Your Insurance Cover
8.1 Company Cover The company holds insurance covering all employees of Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding to be insured to drive the company vehicles as long as a full UK driving license is held and a company is given to company. There is additional conditions for under 21’s. 8.2 Personal Use Company vehicles are not to be used for personal use! On occasion, Mr Christopher Sedgeman may grant a loan of a vehicle for a short duration. For this to be able to happen our insurance company must be notified prior to the event. Please note if you have been found to be driving a vehicle for personal use you may be liable for benefit in kind tax and NICS. We withhold the right to deduct the Class 1A NICS if this is not part of your contract of employment (please read clause below section 9 ). In addition to the above, if you are under the age of 21 or have a DR10 (drink driving offence) on your license, you are not allowed to drive the company vehicles for personal use at all! 9. Driver Taxation 9.1 Company vehicles will all be taxed according to the current laws at the time, this is not your responsibility, however if you are found to be using the vehicle for personal use then you may be charged driver taxation and any other company tax or penalties enforced. 10. Health & Safety 10.1 Driver Safety and Training It is not the responsibility of the company to retrain you if you require it. This is your responsibility. However you may be asked to do further training with the company, if your job role may require it. 10.2 Health & Fitness to Drive You must not drive the vehicles if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol! If you are an HGV driver you are responsible for the renewals of your medicals that you require. 10.3 Eyesight If you are permitted to wear glasses to drive then you must make sure that you do so, while also having your eyes regularly checked. 10.4 Journey Planning When driving you must make sure that you comply with the VOSA rules for drive hours and taco graphs, as this is your responsibility. 11. Withdrawal and Termination Of Employment If you no longer work for Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding, as a direct result of yourself or the company, you will no longer be permitted to drive the company vehicles and are therefore no longer covered by the company insurance. 12. Driver Acceptance Form This policy outlines all of the information that you will need to know, when under the control of a company vehicle.
